*this is a completely new material for me,  I love the gunmetal colour and I plan to use it in some of the new designs that I am preparing.

**Oxidised Sterling Silver is treated in a chemical bath to blacken it to a gunmetal shade of grey. It is then thorougly cleaned for use.

* Rhodium is a silvery-white metal from the platinum group which doesn't tarnish. For this reason it is nearly always used to coat white gold jewellery, as this colour of gold has a high silver content and would otherwise tarnish easily

Trunk Sale in Paris - 1st December

Lapis Lazuli & Kyanite Trickle Earrings

The light is really wintry these days, with a low sun which casts extra long shadows - not so good for taking detailed pictures of gemstones...
Here is a pair of earrings I managed to capture before the sun disappeared behind our neighbour's house yesterday: They are trickle earrings featuring faceted briolettes of glossy Lapis Lazuli with inclusions of Pyrite (fool's gold to some) and lovely, limpid Kyanite. These are set in coils of 14K Gold-Fill on fine 14K Gold-Fill chains and suspended from hand-wrought 14K Gold-Fill hooks.
