Silver Hoops with Amethysts

I've been a bit distracted by feather forms lately, but hammered hoops are still one of my favourite styles and yesterday I made a couple of pairs with different gemstones (after which I chased the sun from window to window in our house and finally into the garden in order to capture them on camera - we are getting closer and closer to the shortest day of the year, no doubt about it!).

This first pair feature faceted pear briolettes* of Brazilian Amethyst in a lovely dark shade of purple. These are suspended from petite hammered hoops in Sterling Silver with Sterling Silver earwires and come with tiny silicone 'nuts' to keep them securely in your earlobe.

Price: £28 / €35

*Pear briolettes are shaped like flat teardrops

Kyanite & Apatite = Summer

I particularly like the watery blue colour of Kyanite, which I find exceptionally pretty in this small faceted briolette-cut as it refracts lots of light. This is a variation on the hoop theme, with tiny kite briolettes of aqua green Apatite among the Kyanite. Small but perfectly formed!

Materials: Sterling Silver, Kyanite & Apatite.

Price: £28.

Petite Hoop Earrings

I am rather fond of hammered hoop earrings, but I find the traditional 'créoles' don't necessarily suit a rounded jawline, so I like to use brushed & hammered circles as part of a pendant design instead. This weekend I started off the new year by making several pairs of mini hoop earrings in gold and silver adorned with garnet, lapis and citrine. I think they will be just perfect for pepping up work outfits in gloomy January.

Tanzanite Twinkles on a Summer's Eve

Except it's not summer any more, it's October. But in this heat it's nice to wear summery silver hoops like these, adorned with Mystic Tanzanite*. They go really well with white, and the remnants of a summer tan.
*Mystic Tanzanite is quartz coated in a tanzanite-blue colour.

Indian Summer

England is basking in glorious summer heat on this first weekend of October. 29C! It makes me pull out my high-summer beauties, such as these hammered gold hoop earrings with luminous aqua chalcedony. I love the way they swish around my jawline.
