For the Beach
We've just returned from a very sunny week on the French Riviera, and while there I thought about making some beach jewellery, as seawater and sunscreen can damage the precious materials in our normal jewellery. Gemstones can lose their lustre, gold and silver can tarnish, while pebbles and sand can scratch...
Here is a slim little bracelet perfect for a tanned wrist: Tiny glass seed beads in creamy pink with a trigger clasp adorned with a tiny faceted Pink Topaz and a faceted Rose Quartz briolette.
Price: £16.

Three Colours Red
My favourite colours are raspberry red and fuchsia pink, and I love using them in my jewellery designs. Sadly, though, I have never really been able to capture the colours properly on film, they always seem to show up as an anonymous red. Not so today, the low mid-day winter sun gave exaxctly the cold light I needed, and I finally caught the colours perfectly.
These three bracelets are, from the center outwards:
1: Rectangular Garnet beads interspersed with tiny faceted Rhodolite Garnet round beads, finished with a Sterling Silver t-bar clasp. £26.
2: Oval faceted beads of hot-pink Rubies, finished with a 14k Gold-fill t-bar clasp. £78.
3: Smooth droplets of Garnet, interspersed with tiny Sterling Silver beads and finished with a Sterling Silver t-bar clasp. £22.

In the Pink

My most recent purchase has been a joyful addition to my wardrobe in this gloomy month of February: This absolutely gorgeous silk shirt from 3.1 Phillip Lim. It is the most beautiful pink, a proper saturated unabashed 'rose bonbon', the kind of colour I longed to wear as a skinny shorthaired tomboy growing up in womens-lib 70's Oslo. And now that I can do whatever I like... well, I like to frolic in it and add a pair of fuchsia ruby earrings. Because I can!
The earrings are my own dormeuse design, featuring faceted pear briolettes of hot pink rubies, wrapped in 14k gold-fill wire and suspended from 14k gold-fill hooks. Price: £36.
